Interpretation of Philippians Chapter 2 Verse 5

In Philippians 2:5, the Apostle Paul encourages believers to have the same mind that was in Jesus Christ. He encourages them to have humility and a willingness to serve others, just as Jesus did. Paul explains that Jesus was willing to give up his divine privileges and power to become a human. He then humbly obeyed the will of God and sacrificed himself to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Paul wants believers to follow in Jesus’ example and to imitate his humility and obedience. He encourages them to put away selfishness and pride, and to instead focus on serving others.
