Interpretation of Philippians Chapter 2 Verse 26

In Philippians 2:26, Paul speaks of Epaphroditus, a fellow Christian and messenger of the Philippians. He was eager to be with them and distressed because he had heard that he was sick. Paul encourages the Philippians to welcome and honor Epaphroditus for his service to them, and to esteem him highly in love because of his work. Paul calls Epaphroditus a “brother,” a “fellow worker,” and a “fellow soldier,” and emphasizes his deep longing to be with them. He also expresses gratitude to God for preserving Epaphroditus and bringing him back safely. Paul’s words remind us that we should be thankful for those who serve us, and that we should express our love for one another in tangible ways.
