Philemon 1:9
The Bible in Philemon Chapter 1 Verse 9 says:
yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:
Interpretation of Philemon Chapter 1 Verse 9
In Philemon 1:9, Paul is addressing Philemon and expressing his request for forgiveness. He starts out by saying that he is an aged man, and is currently a prisoner of Christ Jesus. He then states that out of love for Philemon, he is humbly asking for forgiveness. Paul is asking Philemon to forgive the wrong that was done, and to accept him back into his favor. Paul is showing a great amount of humility and respect in his plea, and is relying on Philemon’s love and mercy to forgive him.
