Philemon 1:14
The Bible in Philemon Chapter 1 Verse 14 says:
but without thy mind I would do nothing; that thy goodness should not be as of necessity, but of free will.
Interpretation of Philemon Chapter 1 Verse 14
In Philemon 1:14, Paul is writing to Philemon, a Christian of Colossae, and he is asking Philemon to forgive his runaway slave, Onesimus. Paul is asking Philemon to act out of love and kindness, and not out of a sense of obligation or necessity. He is letting Philemon know that it is up to him to decide whether or not to forgive Onesimus, and that he should do so out of love, freely and willingly, rather than out of a sense of obligation.
