From the days of your fathers ye have turned aside from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith Jehovah of hosts. But ye say, Wherein shall we return?
Interpretation of Malachi Chapter 3 Verse 7
In Malachi 3:7, God calls for the Israelites to repent and return to Him. He reminds them that their ancestors had strayed from God’s laws and that it is time to turn back to Him. He asks them “Wherein shall we return?” in order to make it clear that obedience to God’s commandments is expected in order to be restored to a right relationship with God. God promises to receive them if they repent and seek Him. This passage serves as a reminder of God’s mercy and an invitation to His people to return to Him.
