Luke 4:26
The Bible in Luke Chapter 4 Verse 26 says:
and unto none of them was Elijah sent, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 26
In Luke 4:26, Jesus is quoting from the Old Testament to emphasize the point that God is not partial; He sends His messengers to people of all different backgrounds. In this particular case, Jesus is referring to Elijah, who was sent to Zarephath in the land of Sidon to a widow. This woman had very little in terms of resources and was living in poverty. Despite her circumstances, God sent Elijah to her, showing that God is not partial and that He reaches out to those who may be most in need of His help.
