The Bible in Luke Chapter 4 Verse 21 says:
And he began to say unto them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 21
In Luke 4:21, Jesus is in the synagogue in Nazareth, His hometown, and is reading from the book of Isaiah. He reads from Isaiah 61:1-2, which speaks of God’s anointed one who shall bring good news, proclaim freedom, and bring comfort to the captives. He then proclaims that this scripture has been fulfilled in their hearing. This statement shocks the crowd, who are amazed at His words and His authority. They begin to question who He is and where He received His power. Jesus then tells them that no prophet is accepted in his hometown and leaves the synagogue.
