The Bible in Luke Chapter 4 Verse 16 says:
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 16
In Luke 4:16, Jesus returns to Nazareth, the town where he was raised, and visits the synagogue on the Sabbath day. As was his custom, he stands up to read. This shows that Jesus was not only familiar with the Scriptures, but that his faith was strong and important to him, as he kept the traditions of his faith even after having left Nazareth.
