Luke 11:44
The Bible in Luke Chapter 11 Verse 44 says:
Woe unto you! for ye are as the tombs which appear not, and the men that walk over [them] know it not.
Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 44
In this passage, Jesus is condemning the Pharisees and scribes for their hypocrisy and lack of faith. He is saying that they are like tombs, appearing normal and outwardly pious, but inwardly filled with dead men’s bones, which the passersby cannot see. Jesus is warning them that their hypocrisy and lack of faith will be known by God, who will judge them according to their deeds. He warns them to repent and make sure they live lives that are pleasing to God, rather than relying on their outward appearances.
