Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 38

In Luke 11:38, Jesus is invited to have dinner with a Pharisee. When the Pharisee sees that Jesus has not bathed himself before eating, he is amazed. Jesus then tells the Pharisee that those who are well do not need a physician, but those who are sick do. Jesus is trying to tell the Pharisee that he should be inviting the sinners and not just the righteous to eat with him, so that he can show them mercy. This is a reminder to us that we should be merciful to those who need it.
