Luke 11:34

The lamp of thy body is thine eye: when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when it is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 34

In Luke 11:34, Jesus is teaching about the importance of keeping one’s eyes focused on what is good and right. He uses the metaphor of a lamp to illustrate this, saying that the eye is the lamp of the body. When the eye is “single” and focused on the right things, then it will bring light to the whole body. But if the eye is turned to what is “evil” then the whole body will be filled with darkness. Jesus is emphasizing the importance of keeping the eyes focused on what is good and right in order to have a life of joy and blessing.
