Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 25
In Luke 11:25 Jesus is teaching his disciples about the importance of being ready for the coming of the Kingdom of God. He tells them that when the Kingdom of God comes, it will be like a man who goes to a house that he had prepared for himself. When he arrives, he finds that it is “swept and garnished”, meaning that it has been cleaned and decorated with furniture. Jesus is telling them that if they are ready for the Kingdom of God, they need to make sure that their lives are ready for it and that they are “swept and garnished” spiritually. They need to make sure that their lives are clean and that they are pleasing to God.
