Interpretation of John Chapter 5 Verse 37
John 5:37 is part of Jesus’s discourse to the Jews in John 5:30-47. In this passage, Jesus is explaining that He is the Son of God, and that He is sent by the Father. He says that the Father has borne witness to Him, but the Jews have never heard His voice nor seen His form. Jesus is claiming that His testimony, which is based on the Father’s witness, is true. He also says that the Father’s witness is greater than that of any other human. Jesus is emphasizing that He is the true Son of God, and that His testimony is valid and true.
