Interpretation of John Chapter 5 Verse 3

John 5:3 describes a scene at the Pool of Bethesda, a pool located near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem. In this pool, there was a large number of people who were sick, blind, crippled, and withered, all of whom were hoping that they would be healed by the special waters in the pool. According to Jewish tradition, an angel would come down to the pool periodically and stir the waters, and the first person to enter the pool after the stirring would be healed of whatever ailment they had. Thus, the people gathered at the pool were waiting for the angel to stir the waters and give them a chance to be healed.
