James 3:11
The Bible in James Chapter 3 Verse 11 says:
Doth the fountain send forth from the same opening sweet [water] and bitter?
Interpretation of James Chapter 3 Verse 11
In James 3:11, James is making a comparison between the tongue and a fountain. Just as a fountain can send forth either sweet or bitter water from the same opening, so too can the tongue be used to speak both good and evil. Through this analogy, James is cautioning us to be mindful of the words we speak and to strive to speak words of wisdom and love rather than words of hurt and destruction.
