Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 9 Verse 1
Hebrews 9:1 explains that the first covenant between God and His people, established with the Israelites, had regulations for worship and a physical sanctuary on earth. This sanctuary was a place of sacrifice and a symbol of the presence of God among His people. It was a place of holiness and reverence, as it was where God dwelled and where His law was to be observed. The writer of Hebrews is emphasizing that the old covenant was not to be taken lightly or ignored. There was a spiritual significance and importance to the ordinances and the sanctuary of the first covenant.
