For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 8 Verse 8

This verse from Hebrews 8 is a quote from the prophet Jeremiah, wherein God is announcing that He will make a new covenant with His people: the Israelites and the Judahites. This new covenant is described as being better than the old one, and that it will be a permanent covenant that will not be broken. This is a reminder of God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises and His mercy in offering a new covenant. It also serves as a warning to those who have broken the old covenant, that they must repent and turn to God if they wish to be part of the new covenant. By doing so, they can receive the blessings of the new covenant and be part of God’s eternal plan.
