Hebrews 7:11
The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 7 Verse 11 says:
Now if there was perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it hath the people received the law), what further need [was there] that another priest should arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be reckoned after the order of Aaron?
Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 7 Verse 11
Hebrews 7:11 speaks to the superiority of the priesthood of Melchizedek over the priesthood of Aaron. It is saying that if the Levitical priesthood, or the priesthood of Aaron, was perfect and the people received the law under it, then why was there a need for another priesthood to arise after the order of Melchizedek? The writer of Hebrews is making the point that the priesthood of Melchizedek is superior to the priesthood of Aaron and is therefore a necessary change.
