Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 7 Verse 10

This passage from Hebrews 7 is referring to the significance of Melchizedek, who was a priest and king of Salem mentioned in the book of Genesis. The author of Hebrews is emphasizing the importance of Melchizedek by pointing out that even though Abraham was not born yet when he met Melchizedek, he was still in a sense present in the loins of his father. In other words, the author is saying that the blessings given to Abraham by Melchizedek were not only for Abraham himself, but for all of his descendants as well. This passage is making the point that Melchizedek was a greater priest than even Abraham and was a type of Christ.
