Hebrews 3:17
The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 3 Verse 17 says:
And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 3 Verse 17
Hebrews 3:17 speaks of the Israelites’ disobedience to God during their 40-year journey through the wilderness. Their failure to obey God’s commands and trust in him caused him to be displeased with them for 40 years. As a result, many of the Israelites died in the wilderness, their bodies falling there as a sign of God’s displeasure. The warning to the readers of Hebrews is to not be like the Israelites and to remain faithful to God, lest they suffer a similar fate.
