Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 18

Hebrews 12:18 speaks of the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the Old Testament, people were given the law at Mt. Sinai, and it was a tangible, physical experience. The people were surrounded by smoke and fire, darkness, and tempest as God revealed his law to them. But in the New Testament, we are not come unto a mount that might be touched and burned with fire, darkness, and tempest. Instead, we have received the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the promise of the Holy Spirit. We have come to a mount that is spiritual and not physical, and where God has given us the promise of eternal life.
