Hebrews 12:17

The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 17 says:

For ye know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no place for a change of mind [in his father,] though he sought is diligently with tears.

Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 17

Hebrews 12:17 is a reminder to all believers of the importance of repentance. It tells the story of how when Esau came to his father Isaac to ask for a blessing, he was rejected because he had not repented of his past actions. Even though Esau tried to earn his father’s favor by seeking it diligently with tears, he could not get what he wanted because his father could not find a change of mind in him. This passage shows us that true repentance is necessary in order to receive God’s blessing, and it is not just the outward show of repentance that matters, but rather the inner change of heart that God looks for.
