Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 1

In Hebrews 12:1, the author encourages the readers to lay aside all the burdens and sins that so easily entangle us and to run with perseverance in the race that has been set before us. He also reminds us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, who have gone before us, and are cheering us on. This is a call to holiness, to live lives that are pleasing to God and to strive to finish the race with faithfulness and endurance.
