Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 2
Hebrews 10:2 speaks of the importance of the sacrifices offered in the Old Testament. The author of Hebrews argues that the sacrifices were necessary for the worshippers to be cleansed from their sins. Once the worshippers were cleansed, they would have no more consciousness of their sins and thus the sacrifices would no longer be necessary. The author of Hebrews is emphasizing the importance of the sacrifices offered in the Old Testament and how they provided a temporary cleansing of sins. The ultimate solution to sin, however, is found in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
