Hebrews 10:1
The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 1 says:
For the law having a shadow of the good [things] to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.
Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 1
Hebrews 10:1 is warning us against relying on the Law of Moses. The Law of Moses was a shadow of the good things to come, but it was not the very image of those things. It could not make perfect those who came near to God. Every year, the same sacrifices were offered up, but these sacrifices could not perfect them. Instead, a better way was needed. That way was found in Jesus Christ, who offered up a single perfect sacrifice for all time.
