And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 1 Verse 6

Hebrews 1:6 is a reference to Psalm 97:7, which states, “All worshipers of the LORD shall bow down to him; all who glory in him shall give him praise.” Here, the writer of Hebrews is emphasizing Jesus’ superiority over the angels by highlighting the fact that even the angels are commanded to worship him. This is the firstborn of all creation, the one who has been given authority over all things and is worthy of all praise and worship. Furthermore, this verse serves to remind us that Jesus should be the object of our praise and worship as well, for he was chosen as the firstborn to be given all authority and power.
