The Bible in Galatians Chapter 4 Verse 3 says:

So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the rudiments of the world:

Interpretation of Galatians Chapter 4 Verse 3

In Galatians 4:3, Paul is referring to the time before we accepted Christ as our savior. We were all in bondage to the basic principles of the world, such as the law, customs, and traditions. We were under the power of sin and unable to be truly free. However, when we accept Christ as our savior, we are no longer bound by the world’s rudiments, but are freed from the power of sin and can live a life of true freedom in Christ.
