Ephesians 6:2
The Bible in Ephesians Chapter 6 Verse 2 says:
Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise),
Interpretation of Ephesians Chapter 6 Verse 2
Ephesians 6:2 is a direct quote from the fifth of the Ten Commandments, which states: “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” This commandment also comes with a promise, which is that those who honor their parents will be blessed with long life. The Bible goes on to explain that honoring one’s parents is not just about obeying them, but also about showing them respect and gratitude for all that they have done.
