I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
Interpretation of Ephesians Chapter 4 Verse 1
In Ephesians 4:1, Paul the apostle, who is a prisoner because of his faith in the Lord, urges the believers to live according to the high calling they have received. Paul calls them to live a life worthy of their calling, to be humble and gentle, and to bear with one another in patience and love. He reminds them that they have been called to be united in the same mind and in the same judgement, and to be of one accord, living in peace and harmony with one another. Paul also encourages them to be forgiving and generous, working diligently instead of being lazy, and to use their gifts to serve each other. This passage reminds us of our duty to God and to our fellow believers, to live with humility and love, and to use our gifts to serve and bless those around us.
