Interpretation of Colossians Chapter 2 Verse 14
Colossians 2:14 speaks of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross as the means by which our sins were forgiven. Through His death, Jesus has “blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us.” This bond refers to the Law of Moses, which promised condemnation for our sins. But through Jesus’ death on the cross, He has taken our sins away and nailed them to the cross. By doing this, Jesus has freed us from the penalty of the Law and opened up the way for us to have a relationship with God.
