Interpretation of Colossians Chapter 1 Verse 8

Colossians 1:8 is part of Paul’s letter to the Colossians, a church he had never visited. In it, he thanks God for the love the Colossian church had for him and for their faithfulness, even though they had never met him in person. He is also thankful for the way they had shared the gospel with others, and for their love in the Spirit. Paul goes on to pray for their growth in knowledge and spiritual understanding, and for them to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. He prays that they may walk worthy of God, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
