Interpretation of Colossians Chapter 1 Verse 21

Colossians 1:21 speaks of the spiritual condition of the Colossians prior to embracing Jesus Christ. It states that, in their pre-Christian state, they were alienated from God and hostile to Him in their thinking and behavior. It reminds us that, before we come to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are all in this same position, separated from God and His mercy. By accepting the grace of Jesus, however, we can be reconciled to God and experience true spiritual renewal.
