2 Timothy Chapter 2 Verse 4

2 Timothy 2:4

The Bible in 2 Timothy Chapter 2 Verse 4 says:

No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

Interpretation of 2 Timothy Chapter 2 Verse 4

In this verse, Paul is encouraging Timothy (and other Christians) to live a life that is focused on pleasing God rather than getting caught up in the worldly things of this life. He is reminding Timothy that as a soldier of Christ, he should not be distracted by the things of this world, but rather to stay focused and live a life that is pleasing to God. This is a reminder to all believers that in order to be successful in the spiritual battle, we must stay focused on our mission and not be distracted by the things of this world.
