2 Thessalonians 2:4

he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.

Interpretation of 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 Verse 4

In 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Paul warns about the coming of a man of lawlessness who will oppose and exalt himself against all that is called God or worshipped. This person will go so far as to sit in the temple of God, pretending to be God himself. Paul calls this person the man of lawlessness, and he is the one who will bring about the great apostasy. Paul warns the Thessalonians to not be deceived by this man and to remain steadfast in their faith. He urges them to be patient and to continue in prayer so that they are ready when the Lord returns.
