Interpretation of 2 Peter Chapter 2 Verse 17
2 Peter 2:17 is warning us of false teachers and false prophets who appear to be offering spiritual guidance, but in reality are only trying to deceive people and lead them astray. The verse compares them to springs without water, which seem to offer refreshment but actually provide nothing. It also compares them to mists driven by a storm, which seem to provide shelter but are quickly blown away. Finally, it warns of the ultimate fate of these false teachers, which is a place of complete darkness, the “blackness of darkness”, reserved for those who have deceived others.
