2 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 9

2 Peter 1:9

The Bible in 2 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 9 says:

For he that lacketh these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.

Interpretation of 2 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 9

2 Peter 1:9 is a warning to believers that they must diligently pursue the virtues mentioned in the previous verses, such as faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. If they fail to do so, they will remain spiritually blind, unable to see the larger picture of God’s plan for their lives and unable to remember the power of the cleansing from their old sins which was accomplished by Christ’s death on the cross.
