Interpretation of 2 Kings Chapter 11 Verse 14

In 2 Kings 11:14, Athaliah, the mother of King Ahaziah, witnesses the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets in celebration of the new King. Enraged by this display of loyalty to Ahaziah, Athaliah rips her garments and cries out treason. She had plotted to control the throne after her son died and this display of loyalty to the new king made her fear that her plot had been foiled.
