2 Kings 11:10
The Bible in 2 Kings Chapter 11 Verse 10 says:
And the priest delivered to the captains over hundreds the spears and shields that had been king David’s, which were in the house of Jehovah.
Interpretation of 2 Kings Chapter 11 Verse 10
2 Kings 11:10 tells the story of the priest Jehoiada delivering the old spears and shields of King David to the captains over hundreds. The spears and shields had been stored in the temple of the Lord since the time of King David. Jehoiada gave the spears and shields to the captains so that they could protect the newly-crowned King Joash. With this symbolic gesture, Jehoiada was affirming the legitimacy of Joash’s reign and showing the people of Israel that their new king was worthy of defending.
