2 Kings 11:1
The Bible in 2 Kings Chapter 11 Verse 1 says:
Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
Interpretation of 2 Kings Chapter 11 Verse 1
In 2 Kings 11:1, it is written that after Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she arose and proceeded to eliminate all the members of the royal family in an attempt to seize the throne for herself. This heinous act was thwarted by the commander of the army, Jehoiada, who was loyal to Ahaziah’s rightful heir, Joash. He commanded his troops to surround the temple and keep Athaliah from entering. He then had the child Joash crowned king. Athaliah was then put to death for her treacherous actions.
