Interpretation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 8

In 2 Corinthians 12:8, Paul is recounting a time when he was afflicted with a “thorn in the flesh”. Three times he prayed to God to have it removed, but God refused. Instead, God told Paul that His grace was sufficient for him. This taught Paul that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. Paul realized that despite his suffering, God’s grace was sufficient to sustain him and that he could find strength through his trials. Paul thus concluded that he should be content with his suffering and rely on God’s grace and strength to sustain him.
