1 Peter 2:14
The Bible in 1 Peter Chapter 2 Verse 14 says:
or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
Interpretation of 1 Peter Chapter 2 Verse 14
1 Peter 2:14 is part of a larger passage in which Peter instructs believers to live godly lives, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. He emphasizes that they should respect and obey the authorities that have been put in place by God, as these authorities are sent by God as a form of punishment for evil-doers and reward for those who do good. Peter admonishes believers to honor their leaders, be obedient and respectful of their authority, and take the opportunities to do good that may arise. This will bring glory to God, and will provide a good witness for others to see.
