Interpretation of 1 John Chapter 4 Verse 1
In 1 John 4:1, the apostle John is issuing a warning to the believers to not trust every spirit that they encounter, but to test them and make sure they are from God. He explains that many false prophets have gone out into the world and that they must be vigilant in examining the spirits to make sure they are from God. He encourages the believers to remain strong in their faith and not be deceived by false prophets. John is reminding them to be discerning in who they accept spiritual guidance from, and to rely on God as their ultimate source of truth.
