2 Peter 1:1
The Bible in 2 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 1 says:
Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and [the] Saviour Jesus Christ:
Interpretation of 2 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 1
2 Peter 1:1 is a greeting from the apostle Peter to those who have accepted the same faith in Jesus Christ as Peter himself has. Peter confirms that the righteous God and Savior Jesus Christ has given them this faith, and he is grateful for the opportunity to share the message of salvation with them. He encourages them to live a life of virtue, so that they can grow in knowledge and understanding of God and his promises. Finally, he prays that they will receive grace and peace from God so that they may continue to grow in their faith.
