but if [a man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.
Interpretation of 1 Peter Chapter 4 Verse 16
In 1 Peter 4:16, the Apostle Peter is encouraging Christians to not be ashamed of their suffering if it comes from living out their faith. Instead, Peter encourages them to glorify God by using their suffering as an opportunity to witness to others and honor Him. He emphasizes that they should not be ashamed, since they are suffering for something good: their faith in Christ. Ultimately, Peter is calling on Christians to remain firm in the face of suffering and, in doing so, glorify God.
