who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
Interpretation of 1 Peter Chapter 2 Verse 24
In 1 Peter 2:24, the apostle Peter is referring to Jesus Christ, who willingly and sacrificially bore the sins of humanity on his body as he was crucified on the cross. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus offers us the opportunity to die to our sins and live a life of righteousness. Furthermore, it is through his suffering and death that we are healed and set free from our sins.
