as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in [the time of] your ignorance:
Interpretation of 1 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 14
In 1 Peter 1:14, the Apostle Peter encourages believers to live as obedient children of God, rather than conforming to their former sinful habits and desires. He reminds them that those sinful habits were a result of living in ignorance and being unaware of God’s perfect will. He encourages them to instead choose to live lives that honor God, and to use His Word as a guide for their actions. By doing this, they will become increasingly holy and pleasing to God.
