Be not many [of you] teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.
Interpretation of James Chapter 3 Verse 1
James 3:1 warns believers not to strive to be teachers, because teachers will be judged more harshly by God. He explains that teachers have a greater responsibility than other believers because they influence the faith and lives of others. He urges teachers to be careful about the words they speak, since those words will be judged by God. James emphasizes that teachers must be wise and exercise self-control in order to meet the greater responsibility of teaching.
