James 2:21
The Bible in James Chapter 2 Verse 21 says:
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?
Interpretation of James Chapter 2 Verse 21
James 2:21 is an affirmation of the importance of good works and a reminder of the faith of Abraham. The verse is a reference to the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 22, where God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham passed the test by demonstrating his faith in God and his willingness to obey God’s command. This story serves as an example of true faith, and James 2:21 draws a connection between Abraham’s faith and his works. In the end, Abraham was justified through his works, showing that faith must be demonstrated through action.
