Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 11
Hebrews 10:11 speaks of the ineffectiveness of the Old Testament sacrificial system in the forgiveness of sins. The writer explains that the priests were required to offer these sacrifices every day; yet, they could never actually remove sin. This is because these sacrifices were only ever a symbol of atonement, not an actual means of forgiveness. The writer is making the point that this system was only ever a temporary measure and that the true sacrifice for sin was yet to come in the form of Jesus Christ.
