Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 8

Hebrews 10:8

The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 8 says:

Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law),

Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 8

Hebrews 10:8 speaks of God’s rejection of animal sacrifices and offerings for sin. God desires a spiritual relationship with his people, and therefore requires a more meaningful sacrifice: Christ’s death on the cross. This sacrifice was made once and for all, and it is enough to atone for our sins. The Law of Moses prescribed animal sacrifices to atone for sin, but those sacrifices were only a shadow of the greater sacrifice that was to come. Through the death of Christ, we can now have a relationship with God that is based on faith, not just on observance of the Law.
